Welcome to the Burns Club

 

 

The Burns Club offers a complete range of entertainment for everyone.  This extends to a family bistro and weekly events for the kids to Friday night dancing for the young at heart, or you may simply enjoy a quiet drink with friends after work from our extensive bar facilities or play some of the latest gaming machines available.

The Burns Club can also boast having one of the largest ranges of scotch whisky's in Canberra, as well as a variety of intra-mural groups as diverse as Scottish Country dancing, internationally ranked pipe bands, Scottish Heritage and Interest Groups to soccer, golf and fishing.  It is also affiliated to clubs throughout the world.

Our multi purpose function room accommodates up to 500 patrons and is the venue for bingo, meat raffles, fully catered functions, seminars, sing-a-longs, dances and bands.  The club also has a new main bar, a boutique bar/coffee shop, full TAB facilities, EFTPOS, FOX Sport and SKY Channel.

As you can see, the range of activities at the club is extensive.  Open 7 days a week 'till late, the Burns Club really does offer something for all ages and tastes. 

So come in and take advantage of all the Burns Club can offer you.


BURNS CLUB OPERATING HOURS:

Sunday, Monday and Tuesday:
10.00am to 11.00pm

Wednesday and Thursday:
10.00am to 12.00 midnight

Friday: 10.00am to 2.00am

Saturday: 10.00am to 1.00am


BURNS CLUB HISTORY

Formed in 1924, The Burns Club was initiated to foster the culture and heritage of Scotland.  In those early days the works of Famous Scottish poet Robert Burns were read by the members at 'Burns Evenings'.

Our Club has since prospered and grown so that our members now enjoy Club facilities second to none.

World Cup Team

Visits Burns Club

 The Scottish Rugby League World Cup Team visited the Burns Club on Tuesday night 21st October 2008.Club CEO Mr Trevor O'Brien welcomed the Squad to Australia, Canberra and the Burns Club and wished the team success in their World Cup Venture. The Club President Mrs Eunice Stewart-Parker also welcomed the tourists and wished them all the best. The squad then tucked in to a Buffet and mingled with Club Members. The players signed memorabillia for Club Members and were happy to meet and talk about their chances in this year's World Cup. Scotland's Media Manager Mr Wayne Cousins thanked the Club for it's hospitality and support.

The Scottish "Bravehearts" take on France on Sunday 26th October at Bruce Stadium.           "Good Luck"
